Usage

This kit is used to quantitatively determine the content of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol in human serum in vitro.

 

Background of Clinical Indications

It is mainly used for the auxiliary diagnosis of hypercholesterolemia, coronary heart disease and atherosclerosis. The lipids precipitated in atherosclerotic plaques are mainly low-density lipoproteins. Among various lipids, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol is considered as the main pathogenic factor, and high-density lipoproteins may play a protective role. Total serum cholesterol roughly reflects the level of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-CHO), but it is also affected by the level of high-density lipoprotein. Therefore, in the assay of atherosclerosis lipid risk factors, when total cholesterol is high, it is of clinical significance to measure low density Lipoprotein cholesterol. The content of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol is positively correlated with cardiovascular disease.
